Description

The Great Buddhist Master trail Marathon is more than a run, this is about a whole Nepalese experience. Firstly enjoy the intoxicating and exhilarating city of Kathmandu, See the sunrise over the city from Swayambhuath (The Monkey Temple) and experience a culture so different to ours at Pashupatinath where you will witness cremations alongside the Holy river Bagmati. We will then blow away the chaos of the city and unwind as we make our way to the remote village of Manegau. The village sits at the foot of the Himalayas and the landscape is simply stunning. It is like stepping into a different world. You will be welcomed by the locals as you run or walk through their villages, and eat freshly prepared traditional homemade Nepalese cuisine. After a challenging run/walk there will be a prize giving ceremony followed by a traditional Nepalese party under the stars. This trip is intimate with only 20 participants as we do not want it to be like a commercial run. It is non-profit making and has enabled houses to be built following the earthquakes 3 years ago.
